Laura Gesin - Sr. Programmer/DBA
Laura Gesin first wrote with a crayon, scribbling on her parents' dining room wall, which lead to a B.A. in Creative Writing from Rutgers. Laura then taught English and ran a writing lab at a New Jersey middle school. A summer internship became a 7 year stint building a marketing department that used technology to automate production of project proposals, direct mailings, and lead generation. Carpet bombed by AOL in late 1994, Laura saw the opportunities afforded by the internet to businesses, families, students, and most of all, frazzled moms. As a web developer for a central New Jersey advertising agency, Laura built 2 ecommerce sites and created an interactive CD for a plastics manufacturer using Visual Basic 6.0 and Access97. After the bubble burst, Laura ran an IT department for a logistics warehousing company for 2 years. Now, she's teaching the next generation of computer kids at a magnate school in her hometown and building the next generation of websites for the clients of bgwdesigns.com.
